The changing times of job hunting

Job seeking habits have changed in recent years.  Because of remote technology and smart phones, many job seekers are applying for their next career move on the hoof.

It doesn’t matter the time of day or where you are, nowadays you can job search at your leisure (apart from if you’re in view of the prying eyes of colleagues or your boss!)

With 30% of job searches conducted on the daily commute and 12% from bed recruiters target peak times for job seekers and have made it easier than ever for candidates to apply,

In most instances, gone are the long drawn out application forms and cover letter requests to enable candidates to quickly apply for the job, giving access to a wider candidate pool. There’s research now showing that there is more job application traffic on mobile than desktop browsing!

On average, job searchers spend one to two hours searching and applying. Most applications are sent in the evening and a large chunk of a recruiters’ morning is capturing these candidates before they start their working day.

So, if you’re struggling to attract the quality or quantity of candidates in your recruitment process, consider this: Is your application process streamlined & easy enough? Is your job advert punchy and attractive? Can candidates access your advert & apply easily on their mobile phone?

Recruiting the best talent to your business is imperative. It can be time consuming, and expensive. But it’s worth investing in a robust recruitment process or speaking to a quality recruiter.
