I’m aware that this statement is probably one of many coronavirus-related communications you will have read this week, but on behalf of Glu Recruit I want to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of our customers, candidates and team members is our number one priority.
Obviously, this is a difficult and distressing time for everybody, both personally and professionally. The team and I understand the problems that you are facing, as big and small businesses, and as candidates, and I want to reassure you that we understand and empathise with you.
At Glu, we’re trying to work as best as we can to try and operate with a ‘keep calm and carry on’ approach. We’re working hard to ensure that we can remain in operation at this tough time. We’re vigorously following the government guidelines with regards to health and safety and we have put the following plans in place:
- The Glu Recruit team will not be attending events for the foreseeable future
- We are not having any face to face meetings
- We are practising social distancing where possible
- All our candidate registrations will be done via video link or telephone where video is not possible
- We are fully prepared for home-working and all of our team are able to work from home if they need to
If you need temporary staff, we can help
We are working with our bank of temporary staff to ensure we can provide cover for our clients’ vacancies and we are actively searching for more candidates who can help to cover the inevitable absences that some businesses may face. If you need to have a chat about that, please do give me a call.
Fortunately, the government has provided some very helpful guidance for employers so I recommend reading through that – it’s been my bedtime reading for a few days now!
If you are looking for temporary employment, we can help with this too
As we support you, we ask that you help us too! We need candidates who can be available to work for businesses who are facing staff absences. We are aware that our clients have vacancies and we are actively searching for more candidates who can help to cover the inevitable temporary absences that some businesses may face. Please share our details with friends who may be able to work, too.
If you find yourself in need of any temporary work during this period of uncertainty, please let us know.
Let’s look after ourselves and each other during these challenging times. Hygiene is paramount; keep washing your hands. If you’re able to, check in on those less fortunate or vulnerable and see if you can help them with shopping for urgent supplies or posting important mail. These little things will keep us going during uncertainty.
Best wishes,
Rob Shaw
