Glu Recruit wins big at the 2025 Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards!

We’ve only gone and done it again! On Friday 14th November, the Glu Recruit team swapped the office for an evening of celebration as we headed to the 2025 Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards – and came home with the “Commitment to People Development” Award!

This win means the world to us. Not only is it a milestone moment for our growing team, but it also marks our second major award in just two years, following our 2024 victory for Excellence in Customer Service. Safe to say… we’re still buzzing!

A year focused on growth, learning & looking after our people

If there’s one thing we’re passionate about, it’s developing our people and helping local people reach their full potential. And over the past 12 months, that focus has taken centre stage more than ever.

Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve achieved:

  • 447 vacancies worked on
  • 123 returning clients — a 10% increase thanks to deeper expertise and stronger relationships
  • Three internal promotions, boosted by structured learning & leadership pathways
  • Two new specialist divisions launched through strategic hires

From weekly in-house training and professional qualifications to leadership programmes that build confidence and capability, continuous development isn’t just something we talk about – it’s something we live and breathe.

And it’s working. Just look at the journeys within our own team.

Jessica Canning recently smashed her CIM Level 4 apprenticeship with distinctions before becoming our Marketing & Communications Manager.

Meanwhile, Jack Crookes climbed from Recruitment Consultant to Senior Recruitment Consultant after completing a leadership programme.
