At this year’s Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards, Camp Glu proudly claimed the “Commitment to People Development” crown, proving once again that when it comes to investing in people, we live and breathe it.

On Wednesday 19th November 2025, the Glu team headed deep into the awards-night wilderness – and emerged victorious.

Over the past 12 months, our commitment to people development has transformed both our team and our service. Here’s what helped us grab the crown:

  • 123 returning clients – a 10% rise driven by stronger expertise
  • 3 internal promotions through structured learning & leadership programmes
  • 2 new specialist divisions launched with strategic hires

From professional qualifications to weekly in-house training to leadership development, the Glu camp has been buzzing with growth, confidence and ambition.

Development success stories

Two standout examples of Glu’s flourishing talent include:

  • Jessica Canning, who achieved distinctions in her CIM Level 4 apprenticeship before swinging into her new role as Marketing & Communications Manager.
  • Jack Crookes, climbing the ranks from Recruitment Consultant to Senior Recruitment Consultant after completing a leadership programme.

Leadership that lights the camp

Managing Director Rob Shaw leads weekly training sessions shaped by internal audits and market shifts – ensuring every team member stays confident, resilient and ready to take on the next trial.
