Role: Area Development Manager

Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE + Commission

Hours: Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00 (some flexibility for meeting which may fall outside these hours) 

Location: York (field based & home working but occasionally be required to go to the office in Sheffield)

Our client is a multi-award winning insurance brokerage with its head office located in Sheffield.

The role:

Role overview:

  • You will have overall responsibility for developing and servicing your client bank and developing new business
  • Dealing with all insurance needs and requirements including; new business, renewals, adjustments, claims, surveys etc.
  • Obtain referrals and life referrals
  • Ensure that firms systems and procedures are always followed in accordance with Service Inspectors duties and responsibilities
  • Cross sell other company products/services e.g. High net worth, health and safety, Group P.A and Travel
  • Premium collection and credit control – refer any problems to the Finance Director at the first possible opportunity
  • Report directly to Head of Sales

The successful candidate:

  • Experience of working within Insurance is very desirable, B2B sales is essential as you will be working with high-level business owners
  • Field based experience, selling to high net worth clients
  • Knowledge of FCA rules and guidelines relating to commercial and private customers
  • Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of underwriting and related issues through formal and informal learning
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
  • Commercial fleet insurance knowledge is advantageous
