Location: Leeds

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Per Annum DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Role

Our client is recruiting for an experienced Audit Senior to join their growing audit team covering North and West Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

This role offers strong career progression, with a clear pathway towards Audit Manager for candidates who demonstrate strong client relationships, technical ability and commercial awareness. You will work across several regional offices while also spending time on-site with clients to support audit assignments.

Duties will include:

  • Leading audit fieldwork assignments from planning through to completion
  • Planning and budgeting audit engagements ahead of fieldwork
  • Completing audit work on key risk areas
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and preparing it for senior review
  • Preparing statutory financial statements, primarily under UK GAAP
  • Drafting tax computations where required
  • Ensuring assignments are completed to internal quality standards and deadlines
  • Coaching and supporting trainees, providing feedback and guidance
  • Assisting with billing processes and monitoring recoverability
  • Identifying opportunities to support existing clients and develop new business relationships
  • Representing the firm at networking events and building your professional network

The successful candidate:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Experience planning and leading external audits within an accountancy practice
  • Strong knowledge of FRS 102 (knowledge of Charities SORP would be beneficial)
  • Confident working in a client-facing environment
  • Ability to manage audit fieldwork independently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience using audit software (experience with MyWorkpapers would be advantageous)
