Role: Bid Manager

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 Per Annum (Plus Bonus Scheme)

Location: Barnsley

Hours: 41.5 Per Week

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday

The Role:

To be responsible the response and conversion of enquiries relating to construction projects. You will be part of the sales team, supported by the wide team engaging with customers to understand project briefs/requirements and the estimating of projects with a view to gaining an agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the company internal sales and quotation register
  • To cost and quote steel projects, and aluminium enquiries with training provided by the sales manager
  • To follow leads and research opportunities for the company
  • To promote the brand through marketing activities, and customer visits
  • To follow up and secure existing concrete quotes and communicate with the team the findings
  • Ensure effective communication with Sales Manager to ensure customer’s and company requirements are met daily
  • To work to the company’s core values

The successful candidate:

Will be experience in estimating, bid/tender management in the construction industry, ideally having worked with steel and concrete projects.

Ideal candidates will be:

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and the team
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet planned outcomes and deadlines, demonstrating excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet conflicting demands
  • Skilled in leveraging social media platforms for lead research, identification, and prospecting
  • Working knowledge of Excel and experience with databases and IT systems
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
