Pay Structure:

Pre-NVQ:

  • Hourly Rate: £13.98
  • Bank Holiday Rate: £21.83
  • Weekday Night Shift: £113.18 per shift
  • Bank Holiday Night Shift: £119.37 per shift
  • Sleep-in: £103.10 per shift
  • Bank Holiday Sleep-in: £103.90 per shift

Post-NVQ:

  • Hourly Rate: £14.05
  • Bank Holiday Rate: £21.83
  • Weekday Night Shift: £113.70 per shift
  • Bank Holiday Night Shift: £119.92 per shift
  • Sleep-in: £103.70 per shift
  • Bank Holiday Sleep-in: £104.50 per shift

Working Pattern: Flexible hours available across a 7-day rota, with shifts between 7am and 10pm. Flexible hours available. Suitable for both full-time and part-time applicants.

  • Mileage allowance (35p per mile for cars / 12p per mile for motorcycles, subject to conditions)

The Role:

We are recruiting for a Care Support Worker to provide person-centred support to individuals and their carers. The aim of the role is to enable individuals to live independently, maintain their health and wellbeing, and actively participate in their community while preserving dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality personal, social, and domestic care in line with individual support plans
  • Promote independence using a “doing with, not doing for” approach
  • Respect individual lifestyles, choices, and equality principles at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold dignity in all aspects of care
  • Work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations

Key Responsibilities:

Care & Support:

  • Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, continence care, and hygiene
  • Support with mobility, transfers, and use of specialist equipment
  • Assist with feeding and medication (as prescribed and documented)
  • Support with rehabilitation programmes where required
  • Provide emotional support to individuals and families
  • Supervise and support individuals in the community where appropriate

Domestic Tasks:

  • Meal preparation and washing up
  • Light cleaning as per support plans
  • Laundry and bed changing
  • Essential shopping (with receipts)

Administration & Teamwork:

  • Maintain accurate records and complete documentation
  • Report changes in circumstances or concerns to management
  • Attend training, meetings, and ongoing development sessions
  • Work flexibly to support colleagues during absence or peak demand

The Successful Candidate:

Essential:

  • Willingness to work towards or complete NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Basic numeracy skills (e.g. handling money/shopping tasks)
  • Willingness to provide personal care
  • Understanding of equality and diversity

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a care or support role
  • Knowledge of home care services
  • Awareness of food hygiene practices
