Role: Customer Services Officer

Salary: £23,000

Located: Sheffield

Hours:- Mon – Thurs 08:30 – 16:45 & Fri 08:30 – 16:00

Our client is looking for a Customer Services Officer who will provide an outstanding experience to all customers, giving the best possible service, advice, or solution in a timely manner. Working as part of a small team to deliver first class customer service whilst understanding and working towards the Company’s business and financial objectives.

The role:

  • Provide front-line advice and assistance via telephone and written communication to customers, consumers and sales colleagues, facilitating the earliest possible resolution in line with service standards and procedures.
  • Order editing and order entry as appropriate
  • Receive and process ‘follow up’ information for previous requests and update systems as appropriate
  • Liaise with other departmental staff, partner organisations and external service providers in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Quickly identify situations requiring specialist information and direct customers appropriately,
  • Provide the necessary administration support
  • Provide general administrative duties to resolve customer queries, mailing, photocopying, information storage and printing.
  • Provide necessary support to cover holidays and other absences within the customer service and reception team.
  • Answer switchboard calls.
  • Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures and undertake relevant training and development activities for new and alternative systems
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate. 

The successful candidate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high standard of accuracy and efficiency
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and often demanding customer service environment
  • Computer literate, with experience using the full Microsoft Office Suite and SAP would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Experience managing own workload
  • Ability to work to deadlines
