Role: Defined Benefit Pensions Administrator

Salary: Up to £32,000 Per Annum DOE

Location: York

Working Pattern: Office Based During Training Moving To Hybrid Working (3 Days Office – 2 Days Home)

The role:

  • Managing pension administration activities for Defined Benefit pension schemes
  • Processing member enquiries, calculations and benefit settlements accurately and within agreed service levels
  • Maintaining scheme member records and ensuring all data is up to date
  • Responding to telephone and email enquiries from members and clients
  • Monitoring workloads and prioritising tasks to ensure service standards are achieved
  • Assisting with scheme events, projects and reporting requirements
  • Reviewing and checking work to ensure compliance with procedures and quality standards
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members where required
  • Building and maintaining a strong understanding of client pension schemes and benefit structures
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with internal controls, regulatory requirements and client expectations

The successful candidate:

  • Previous experience within Defined Benefit pensions administration
  • Experience working for a third-party administrator or within an in-house occupational pension scheme
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a team environment
  • Proactive approach with a desire to learn and develop professionally
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Desirable:

  • Studying towards or qualified in a recognised pensions qualification such as PMI
  • Experience providing support, guidance or training to junior team members
