Role: Finance Manager

Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience

Location: Chesterfield

As a result of continued growth our client is currently looking to add a Head of Finance to their established team. The candidate must be ambitious, driven and have a strong commercial mindset to grow the role within the business.

Reporting to the Managing Director and Head of Operations and your duties will include:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Sales ledger – raising invoices, cash allocation, credit control
  • Purchase ledger – processing purchase invoices, allocations, supplier payments
  • Production of the monthly management accounts pack and KPI management
  • Managing cash flow
  • VAT and other taxation returns
  • Providing accounting support to colleagues on various projects
  • Monthly payroll and pension processing
  • Leading the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements
  • Ensuring the company has appropriate insurance cover
  • Support enrolment of new accounts and credit limits
  • Establish yourself as a key member of the leadership team with a commercial conscience, eye for detail and desire to continually improve
  • Build a knowledge of the customer & supplier journey & ensure the finance department contributes to it positively
  • Utilise systems & automation where possible, allowing the focus of your & the teams time to be on adding value
  • Build, develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Strategic planning of financial activities
  • Accurately implement and work in line with company policy and procedure
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 & 27001 standards
  • Drive efficiency & value for money in procurement and supplier management

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) desirable (QBE Considered)
  • Sage 50 Accounts Essential
  • Sage Payroll Desirable
  • Proven track record within a financial management role

Skills required:

  • The aptitude/ability to liaise directly with a diverse range of end users from multiple countries
  • The aptitude/ability to meet company service standards and turnaround times
  • Strong communication skills (specifically over the phone and by e-mail)
  • Technical aptitude – the ability to learn new technologies quickly (full training will be provided where required)
  • The aptitude/ability to work in an organised manner, under pressure and methodically
  • The aptitude/ability to work pro-actively whilst multi-tasking and within a team environment
