Working Pattern: Monday–Thursday 8:00–17:00, Friday 8:00–16:00

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and manage the finance function for a growing engineering and manufacturing business. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of the finance team, work closely with senior leadership, and provide meaningful insight to support business decisions. There is potential for progression into a Finance Director role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the full finance function, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management processes
• Support year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
• Develop and improve financial controls and processes
• Provide meaningful financial analysis and insight to inform strategic decision-making
• Act as a business partner to non-finance colleagues and support operational decision-making
• Manage and develop junior finance staff, where applicable
• Drive process improvements and add commercial value across the business

The Successful Candidate:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior finance role
• Hands-on and proactive, with strong commercial awareness
• Experienced in managing systems, processes, and improvements
• Confident in presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Previous experience within engineering, civil engineering, or manufacturing environments is desirable
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the business
