Role: Junior Project Manager

Salary: £20,000 – £28,000 depending on experience

Location: Rotherham (UK travel involved with some nights away)

Our clients are specialists in their field and work withing the construction industry.

Due to expansion, they have a vacancy for a proactive and enthusiastic Project Manager. Some experience would be desirable but not essential to oversee projects throughout the UK. Working from their Head Office in Rotherham and reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, the candidate would have the responsibility of managing projects from internal handover to final completion.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with appointing and monitor installation teams
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with the client base
  • Assist Project Management team with organising site packs, placing sub-contractor orders.
  • Visit sites in the UK alone or with other Project Managers to monitor installations and collate information to assist with the smooth running of the site.
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings on site and relay information back to the team
  • Closely monitor all on site work, inspect, snag and report back to the Project Management team with findings
  • Assist with preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Monitor programme of works and identify shortfalls and solutions
  • Attend weekly contracts meetings
  • Visiting sites in the UK will be required and the candidate will occasionally be required to stop away from home. All overnight stays are fully expensed.
  • CSCS card and SSSTS is a requirement but not essential
  • Must be comfortable with working at heights and willing to train to use Cherry Pickers or Scissor Lifts.

The successful candidate:

Experience in commercial construction is advantageous but not essential and the candidate is required to have excellent communication and organisational skills. Training will be given to assist the successful candidate to progress into a Project Management role.

The package for the role is negotiable depending on experience, will lead to having a company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone, company pension and 25 days’ annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
