Salary: £45,000 Per Annum Basic – increasing by 10% after Probation – OTE £65,000–£90,000+ Uncapped

Glu Recruit is working with a well-established materials handling business looking to recruit an experienced Key Account Manager to support continued growth across the Midlands. This is a field-based sales role focused on winning new business, developing long-term customer relationships and managing the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to contract negotiation and close. The successful candidate will ideally have strong sales experience within the materials handling sector and be confident working independently across a regional territory.

The Role

  • Developing new business opportunities across the Midlands region
  • Promoting new and used materials handling equipment
  • Managing and growing relationships with existing customers
  • Proactively identifying and targeting new prospects across the territory
  • Managing the full end-to-end sales cycle
  • Negotiating commercial agreements and contracts
  • Representing a portfolio of leading materials handling brands, including Mitsubishi
  • Preparing sales reports and tracking activity across the region
  • Managing your sales pipeline through CRM systems
  • Planning your territory effectively, balancing new business development with account management
  • Working independently in a field-based role while contributing to wider team targets

The client specifically highlights new-business development, account management, contract negotiation and full-cycle sales responsibility as core parts of the role.

The Successful Candidate

  • Strong B2B sales experience, ideally within the materials handling industry
  • Proven ability to win new business and manage the full sales cycle
  • Strong account management and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organised with excellent territory and time management
  • Commercially confident and comfortable negotiating contracts
  • Experience working with different commercial propositions, including outright purchase, lease purchase and contract hire
  • Confident using CRM systems to manage sales activity and pipeline
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently without close supervision
  • Willing to travel extensively across the designated region
  • Full, clean UK driving licence is essential
