Role: Goods In Supervisor

Salary: £13.50 – 14.50 per hour

Located: Barnsley

Hours: – 12 hour shifts 7am – 7pm (4 on 4 off Rota)

Our client is looking for an experienced Goods-In Supervisor to join their dynamic team and manage the day-to-day operations of their inbound logistics. As a Goods-In Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the receipt of goods, ensuring they are checked for accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards. You will work closely with warehouse operatives, inventory teams, and other supervisors to maintain seamless inbound logistics.

The role:

You will supervise the daily activities of the goods in department, overseeing the unloading, checking and allocation of stock received. Utilizing your impressive communication skills, you will collaborate with other departments to ensure the efficient and accurate allocation of received stock. You will also;

  • Supervise Goods-In Processes: Oversee the unloading, checking, and booking in of deliveries.
  • Quality & Quantity Checks: Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and resolve any issues.
  • Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of Goods-In operatives, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure all goods are recorded accurately and discrepancies are reported.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Promote a safe working environment and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with inventory and stock control teams to ensure smooth transitions of goods. 

The successful candidate:

You will be a flexible and dedicated team player with an unrivalled ability to communicate at levels, with:

  • Valid Forklift truck Licence (Reach, Counterbalance and VNA desirable)
  • Proven experience (1 year) in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
