Role: Service Engineer

Location: Barnsley S73

Salary:  £28,000- £30,000 per annum  D.O.E

Working 39 hours per week – 08.30 – 17.00 (Mon-Thurs), 08.30 – 16.00 (Fri). (Flexibility will be required to meet the demands of the role.)

Job Purpose:

To support the Service Centre, being responsible for the service and repair of robotics, crawlers, cameras, and related equipment, including routine maintenance of machinery and the plant. To learn on the job through specific product training and support, providing industry leading service and forming strong customer and supplier relationships.

The role may also, from time to time, involve travel to support customers and as part of your development for specific training requirements.

To support the Hire department, performing checks and repairs/servicing of all hire equipment post and pre-hire.

Additionally, you may be required to work as part of the wider Operations team in the assembly and manufacture of company products for the water rehabilitation and CIPP industry when necessary.

The role:  

  • Learn and perform troubleshooting, maintenance, service and repair of designated equipment – including robotic and remote crawlers/cameras / light heads etc, used for sewer and water infrastructure inspection and repair.
  • Keep clear and concise records of repairs and equipment.
  • Travel to customer sites etc as the company needs dictate – both domestic and international.
  • Assist with Plant maintenance and upkeep of all schedules and records, repairs, modifications, lighting, emergency light checks, factory maintenance and preventative maintenance.
  • When required, provide effective manufacture, assembly and packing of all current and future company products to a high standard.
  • Ensure quality within the Service, Repair, Manufacture and assembly of all company and customer products.
  • Build strong customer and supplier relationships.
  • Assist in improving all processes, sharing ideas and skills with good record keeping.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment / general housekeeping.
  • Provide support to the wider team.
  • Participate and embrace training and attend team meetings.
  • Work in a safe manner to ensure the safety of self and others and highlight any issues to the QHSE Manager / Operations Manager / Area Safety Representative.
  • Comply with processes/procedures to ensure that the Company achieves its goal to continually improve its environmental and business performance objectives.

Essential:

  • Recent electrical and/or mechanical (maintenance) experience (with relevant qualifications) or a time-served apprenticeship in a relevant subject
  • Good eye for detail
  • Ability to follow manufacturer and company instructions/procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Organised and accurate.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good record keeping.
  • Good team player.
  • Willing and eager to learn.
  • Valid passport.
  • Full driving licence
