Role: Wills & Probate Solicitor

Location: Buxton (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £30,000 – £50,000 Per Annum DOE

Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, and Lasting Powers of Attorney from instruction to completion
  • Draft Wills and estate planning documentation
  • Advise clients on inheritance tax and estate planning matters
  • Handle probate applications and estate administration efficiently
  • Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and third parties
  • Attend client meetings and provide clear, practical legal advice
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support business development and promote services where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with SRA regulations, AML requirements, and firm procedures
  • Maintain accurate file records and confidentiality standards
  • Manage billing in line with agreed targets
  • Monitor and review debts, WIP, and disbursements
  • Accurately record time and case progress
  • Keep up to date with legal developments through CPD
  • Work in accordance with regulatory and firm policies
  • Contribute positively to team collaboration and knowledge sharing

The Successful Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor or experienced Fee Earner with strong Private Client experience
  • Ability to independently manage a busy caseload
  • Excellent written communication and numeracy skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience with LEAP case management system desirable (training provided)
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance (SRA, AML)
  • Professional, approachable, and enthusiastic
  • High levels of integrity, empathy, and professionalism
  • Strong client care skills
  • Proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented
  • Calm under pressure and able to meet deadlines
  • Collaborative team player
