We’re incredibly proud to share that Rob Shaw, Managing Director of Glu Recruit, has officially been appointed as a Director on the Board for the Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.
This achievement marks a special milestone not just for Rob, but for the entire Glu Recruit team – reflecting years of dedication to supporting local business growth, championing opportunity and contributing to the region’s thriving economy.
Rob’s journey with the Chamber goes right back to the beginning of Glu Recruit. As an early member, he has always believed deeply in the value the Chamber brings to businesses across Barnsley and Rotherham.
“Having been a member since the very beginning of Glu Recruit, I’ve always been a huge supporter of the incredible work the Chamber does for our local area. We as a business have genuinely benefitted from their services, network and support.” Rob said.
From networking opportunities to business support and regional advocacy, the Chamber has played a key role in Glu’s growth – and now, Rob is stepping up to help pay that forward.
Representing the area, he calls home
As a proud Rotherham lad, Rob is passionate about flying the flag for the region’s business community.
He said, “I’m chuffed to be further flying the flag for business in the area. It’s something that really matters to me.”
His appointment strengthens his ability to represent local employers, champion collaboration and help shape a stronger economic future for Barnsley and Rotherham.

Rob is eager to utilise his experience to encourage collaboration, champion local partnerships, and promote business growth across the region.
“I hope I can support the Chamber in the same way they’ve supported us, as well as continue the work to strengthen and grow business in Barnsley and Rotherham – encouraging businesses to work with one another and keep things local.”
His focus will centre around creating opportunities, nurturing cross-business relationships and contributing to a thriving, connected business landscape.
