Great news for those employed within the creative sector. The Prime Minister has launched a new £3m funding boost to creative and cultural organisations situated in the Northern Powerhouse.
The funding will enable arts projects and businesses to apply for up to £150k of government funds in Northern Powerhouse cities including Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester.
This new funding boost comes following the announcement of a £150m ‘sector deal’ in March this year, in which the government outlined plans to boost the creative industries as part of its over-arching Industrial Strategy.
Rob Shaw, managing director at Glu Recruit said: “This funding boost is yet another vote of confidence in the sector- one that will help to nurture new talent, and allow businesses to innovate and grow.
“It’s also a huge positive for the North in particular, unlocking a new source of finance for creative organisations to fly the flag for the sector in the UK.”
