Glu Recruit celebrated 7 years in business and raised £1350 for charity

Rotherham-based recruitment agency, Glu Recruit, recently marked a significant milestone as it celebrated seven successful years in business.

Founded in 2016, Glu Recruit has quickly established itself as a leading recruitment agency, connecting employers with exceptional candidates and helping job seekers find fulfilling careers.

To commemorate this achievement, Glu Recruit hosted an anniversary event at Manahatta, a popular venue in Sheffield. Not only did the celebration provide an opportunity for reflection and gratitude, but it also allowed them to raise an impressive £1350 for The Master Cutler’s Challenge.

The Master Cutler’s Challenge, organised by the Cutlers’ Company in Sheffield, invites businesses to utilise their entrepreneurial skills and creativity to generate funds for charitable causes. Over the years, the challenge has successfully raised millions of pounds, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

Dame Julie Kenny DBE, DL this year’s Master Cutler, commented, “I am very proud to be only the second female Master in almost 400 years. Every year the Master Cutler has a cause they want to raise awareness of; mine is the Wentworth Woodhouse educational and community programme, which strives to increase diversity and inclusion in South Yorkshire.

“I got involved in Wentworth Woodhouse not only to rescue such an important and beautiful place, but also because I wanted it to become a catalyst for change – supporting regeneration, providing jobs and workplace opportunities and becoming a place for the people.

“We have achieved a huge amount in six years. It is now one of the core pillars in South Yorkshire and is transforming lives and communities in what is one of the most deprived regions in Europe.”

Over the past few months, Glu Recruit have dedicated their efforts to raising money for the cause and their birthday celebration was the perfect opportunity to continue this fundraising.

Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to participate in raffles and auctions. The incredible generosity displayed by the attendees resulted in an impressive total of £1350 being raised, a testament to the collective spirit and goodwill of all those involved.

This achievement not only reflects Glu Recruit’s success as a business but also highlights the power of collaboration and community engagement.

Rob Shaw, Managing Director at Glu Recruit, commented on the event, “Our 7th birthday party was an incredible event and one we will certainly remember.

“It was the perfect opportunity to celebrate yet another milestone with our team and to raise money for a great cause along the way. At Glu, we thrive to extend beyond our role as recruiters and this event highlighted this.

“With the help of our lovely clients we raised a huge £1350 for the Master Cutler’s Challenge – money that will make such a difference. I want to thank everyone who has supported us on this journey.”
