The first month at Glu Recruit has been a busy one, and an exciting time. I’ve been so thrilled to be made to feel so welcome at networking events across the city region and for people to be so open to consider using my business to find their next job or recruit. For me, it’s been about our realising, developing and building our USP and taking our difference to market in a variety of ways, and it has been warmly received. I’ve focused on scouting out the most talented candidates looking for a new job in Yorkshire and the Midlands, meeting them for a coffee and finding out what makes them tick and then working with them on which employers they hold in high regard and would love to work for.
My candidates have felt personally looked after and I’ve made sure that I’ve kept them up to date during my search and they’ve found that positively refreshing. Building a social media brand and website has been challenging but in a good way. I’ve discovered that I definitely have OCD but I wanted it to look and feel just right. I hope it looks fresh, personal and brings some humour and personality to the forefront of the brand. I feel like it does and having sought a cross opinion it’s been well received! For those that have worked with me in my time in recruitment, I hope it feels like ‘me’. Moving forward now at Glu Recruit I’m going to be taking the brand further and promoting myself and the business out there to show that we have landed. I’m looking to build partnerships with lovely employers that value a recruitment agency within their process and who place people at the heart of their business. After all, without them or with the wrong ones it doesn’t make for a recipe of success. Attrition is a killer for businesses for many reasons and I can offer so much support to help with that. If attrition exists, and the problem has been identified, and a decision has been made that it needs correcting then call me in for a cuppa and use my expertise to help get back on track. I’m also looking to build relationships with the regions most talented candidates to help them find the next step in the career that they’ve been looking for. I can provide some key market knowledge in their field as well as valuable advice to help their CV stand out from the crowd to get that all important interview. Then, help with interview preparation and nerves so that they have the best shot of hitting the back of the net!
Well, that concludes the awkward first blog post. Keep up to date with news and features, we will be regularly updating this page. If you’re looking to build a partnership with a recruiter then drop me a line!
