Ping Pong challenge to bring Yorkshire workforce together

A unique Ping Pong challenge is set to bring together employees at a raft of Yorkshire based businesses, helping to encourage ‘team building and employee engagement’.

Sponsored by Tsingtao Beer, the Ping Pong Fight Club Tour will take place on May 17th; with staff from companies including Sky Betting & Gaming, John Lewis, Leeds Dock Tetrad Discovery and Bolser Agency all battling it out to be crowned the champions.

Now in its sixth successful year Ping Pong fight club offers businesses – from start-ups to sector leaders – the opportunity to compete, play and party as a team, with a chance to walk off with the ultimate bragging rights of the city, to be crowned ‘Ping Pong Fight Club Champions’.

More than 1,200 employees participated in the 2017 tour and is now considered to be one of the UK’s leading national employee engagement, team building and business networking events.

Rob Shaw, Managing Director of Glu Recruit, said: “Camaraderie is a key component of productivity. A strong team will inevitably work better and more effectively together, which of course ultimately benefits their organisation.

“This is a fantastic initiative that is designed to help foster a great culture in companies of all sizes by taking people out of the office and putting them into an environment where they can have a fun, but where they are also learning to rely on each other, trust each other and encourage each other.

“We also know from the work we do recruiting on behalf of businesses in the region that if an employee feels part of a team and enjoys the environment in which they work they are more inclined to stay longer in their role, so it’s a win win!”

Organiser and founder of PPFC, Ade Leigh, said: “We are thrilled that Ping Pong Fight Club, with the support of Tsingtao, is returning to Leeds. Last year’s event was feisty. The city has a competitive corporate culture that’s for sure.

“Ping Pong Fight Club encourages team building and employee engagement in a fun and energetic way. Table tennis is a sport all employees can get involved in no matter what their age or ability, whether that’s to play or spectate.”
