We are absolutely delighted to see reports that the number of businesses in Yorkshire looking to hire new employees has risen in March due to an increase in overall business confidence.
According to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking Fund, companies in the region have reported higher confidence in their business prospects and higher economic optimism.
Overall confidence – which was strongest in the transport and manufacturing sectors – is at 37% compared to the previous month’s 27%, with 29% of businesses in the region expecting to hire more staff in the next year.
Rob, managing director at Glu Recruit, says the positive upturn is already being felt in South Yorkshire.
“It’s great to see such optimism among Yorkshire companies,” he said.
“We’re already seeing an increase in calls from businesses in the region looking to expand their businesses with a view to bolstering growth, and it’s fantastic to be a part of such a thriving business community.”
